Firestarter!
We are hosting a historical play on October 16th about Dr William Price who was born in Rudry. This is the Wales premier of this show.
Tickets from Helen Lewis - 029 20882091
BIG STATE THEATRE
present
The Fire Starter at rudry village hall on 16th October 2008. At 7.30pm.
Directed by John Nicholson of the award winning PEEPOLYKUS
"Highly anarchic, yet taut and disciplined to the 'nth degree…..."
Venue Magazine
“Contemporary theatre at its best”
Wilts Gazette
The Fire Starter is a gloriously irreverent romp through the extraordinary life of a nineteenth century Welsh Arch Druid and Doctor, the cremation crazy William Price. A Pagan, Price played his flute, naked, on the hills, had children out of wedlock and shocked the Victorians by bucking the burial trend and cremating his dead relatives.
This hilarious comedy features over 25 characters including a sheep, a parrot, a spectacularly incompetent vicar, rampant twins and the lovesick Smelly Gwennie, all performed by three stunningly versatile actors.
The Director, John Nicholson of Peepolykus, brings a heavy dose of ridiculous humour to this true story of a Victorian rebel.
"Fast-fired multiple character changes with layer upon layer of jokes from very skilled performers"
